Terms of use

These terms apply to the LakeTime website, waitlist, private test app, and shared plan pages. By using an account or submitting content, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility and private testing

You must be at least 13. LakeTime may limit invitations, lakes, features, or test availability and may change or discontinue pre-launch features. Do not evade the age gate, impersonate another person, or give someone else access to your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give LakeTime a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, copy, moderate, and distribute it only as needed to operate and improve the service. You must have the right to share it. Do not post private contact details, exact home or dock locations, unlawful material, threats, harassment, spam, impersonation, or content that endangers another person.

LakeTime may screen, hold, remove, or restrict content and accounts to enforce these terms or protect the community. The app provides reporting and blocking controls; urgent safety issues still belong with emergency services.

Teens and mixed-age plans

Teen-only activity is available only to signed-in 13–17 accounts. Adults may not access teen-only plans or presence. A mixed-age plan requires the host to acknowledge that teens may attend. Do not use LakeTime to solicit a minor's contact information, private location, images, or an off-platform meeting. LakeTime is not a parent-consent or childcare service.

Plans are informal

A plan is a community invitation, not a supervised event, transportation service, charter, guide service, or promise that anyone will attend. Hosts and attendees are responsible for their own decisions, equipment, permissions, licenses, supervision, weather checks, boating practices, and compliance with law. A host may cancel, attendees may leave, and the app may close a plan when it expires or misses a stated minimum.

Conditions, water, ice, and maps

LakeTime never certifies that water, weather, ice, a route, or a location is safe. Community observations may be incomplete, delayed, wrong, or about a different part of the lake. No absence of reports is an all-clear. A reported ice measurement is not an ice-safety determination. Check current official sources and conditions yourself.

The illustrated map and approximate areas are not navigation. They do not replace official charts, markers, notices, local knowledge, or safe operation. A Water Pin is a coordination point chosen by a user, not a verified destination.

Emergencies and help requests

LakeTime is not an emergency service and does not monitor requests continuously. If anyone may be in danger, call 911 or the appropriate emergency authority now. A Community Help post is neighbor-to-neighbor and does not guarantee a response, rescue, tow, repair, qualification, or safe outcome.

Account controls

You can export and delete a signed-in account from Settings. LakeTime may suspend or remove an account for safety, abuse, fraud, legal compliance, or repeated violations. You can contact hello@laketime.app to appeal a moderation or account decision.

Third-party services

LakeTime relies on service providers for hosting, authentication, database operations, maps, and weather data. Their availability and data may change or fail. Their own terms may apply to those services. See the Privacy Policy for the current list and data flow.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the pre-launch service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of availability, accuracy, attendance, safety, or fitness for a particular purpose. LakeTime is not responsible for decisions, conduct, property damage, injury, or losses caused by other users or by relying on community content. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and contact

Material changes will carry a new date. Continued use after notice means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, delete the account. Questions: hello@laketime.app.
